This mushroom was found underneath a pine tree, right next to a hedge. It was growing on wet soil covered in pine needles, dead leaves, and grass.
The cap is bright red, umbilicate, with an entire margin. The cap surface is shiny and smooth. This mushroom lacks partial veil features. It’s gills are sinuate and vary from narrow to broad. The gills are closely spaced with entire edges. The stem is terete, equal, and central. It’s orange in colour and has a fibrous surface.
Based on the presence of white droplets on the undersurface of the cap, I think this mushroom is part of the Lactarius genus, however I don’t know the exact species.
