I walked around a local park and came across this empty dog enclosure, where I saw a large stagnant puddle of water. I wanted to sample this water source to see if there were any harmful fungi present in the water in case dogs decide to come and take a drink from here after running around and getting their exercise. I saw a bunch of dog walkers pass by and completely avoid the enclosure though, maybe because of the weather. I expect there to be a medium-high abundance of fungi from this sample as the water is not flowing freely and is located centrally among stands of trees, where there’s probably a lot of fungi/spores nearby.
