Samples were taken from a covered area on my back patio. In this picture the CMA plate is on the left and the PDA plate is on the right. Both plates have a similar amount of growth, though appear to have different frequencies of species growing on them. In this case in order to figure out which media is better, it would depend on what kind of fungi we are hoping to isolate as both appear suitable for general growth but may be ideal for different species.
