For these two plates, I decided to plate a sample of garlic and arugula from my fridge.
The arugula grew significantly more in PDA in contrast to in CMA (it had a larger spread of mycelia). The arugula in CMA had tiny separate spots in contrast to in CMA, in which the mycelia were uniformly spread around the arugula. Due to the extent of growth in PDA, I would say that PDA is the better media for growth for arugula.
The garlic, on the other hand, also had a wider spread of white fuzzy mycelia in PDA than in CMA. In CMA, the patch around the garlic was smaller. For these reasons, I think for garlic, PDA is the better media.
