This mushroom was found growing at the base of a tree on a hiking trail. The cap is arched, and has a slightly striated margin; its surface is pulverulent. The partial veil is flocose. The gills are long and have a recurrent attachment; they have a narrow breadth, average thickness, and are subdistantly spaced. The edges are also crenate. Although not visible in the picture the bulb is fusiform. The stem has a clavate shape, and lacunose surface. The cap color is a burnt orange/red and has white specks, so this, in addition to the presence of the partial veil, makes me think this is amanita muscaria.
