I took a red leaf from my strawberry plant (that I did not really take good care of – the strawberries will probably never turn ripe). This strawberry plant is not very healthy because usually red leaves on strawberry plants are indicative of nutrient deficiency, however since it’s also almost winter, the plant might also just be dying since there are some yellow leaves too. I’m expecting to see some fungal growth because it might be more prone to fungal infections since the plant is dying/lacking nutrients. I was curious to see if this plant would have more or different kinds of fungi compared to one of my relatively healthier strawberry plants so I also inoculated plates with a healthy leaf as a comparison.
